Garrix, the Alpha version of an Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) being, lands in an isolated remote village in Congo, Africa.
Coming face to face with a little tribal girl, he wonders who this is. ‘Cause, the haggard little thing is out of his data bank.
Intrigued, he takes a step forward to get closer to the girl.
The girl’s incredulous expression – looking at a strange stranger – escalates to fear. Everything is so human about this thing, but something is not human.
A horde of muscular tribes – more bizarre in their appearance – mushroom out of nowhere… and, are right next to the girl, glaring at Garrix.
Garrix’s confusion deepens. These brutes too are out of his tracking mechanism. And, so are the improvised weapons they’re brandishing in the air.
The next second, Garrix finds himself on the ground with his arms and legs excised.
The brutes roar in fear. They see no blood splattering out of the severed body parts. Only mangled steel joints. They scoot as if possessed.
But, not the girl!
Garrix sees the girl bend over him. Her tender fingers reach out to his face and touch it ever so softly. Her facial muscles contort. Tiny water droplets come off her eyes and fall on his face.
Garrix’s vision algorithms measure the emotion metric and figure out they’re TEARS. The chemical manifestation of a strange intelligence that has evolved over millennia!
Now, this biological intelligence is the differentiating factor. The chasm that Garrix – and his entire AI breed – can never bridge. They can never become humans. ‘Cause, they’re machines.
So what? He can switch on his supersonic artificial neural network to machine-learn these emotions. No?
NO! He knows the answer only too well.
He knows that the human body contains approximately:
- 10 trillion human cells and
- 100 trillion bacterial cells
100 trillion bacterial cells – called the microbiomes – consisting of bacteria, viruses, fungi and single-celled micro-organisms!
The cells that make humans much more than human. The cells that prove humans are the very piece of Mother Nature.
The cells that give birth to their complexly weaved emotions. The cells that explode the unfathomable phenomenon called creativity… in extremely mysterious ways.
Ways that humans themselves aren’t able to decipher.
And so, they can’t replicate.
And therefore, they remain the most creative species on Earth.
Emotions & Creativity
Now, standing at a dangerous intersection where the AI is all set to eclipse them with its super intelligence, humans are poised for their next challenging, yet creative, act.
They know they can conquer this game only by using their deadliest weapon… a weapon that the AI doesn’t possess.
Using emotions, humans will disarm the AI into a great companion. They will subjucate it into a most friendly genie. They will groom it for a peaceful co-existence.
Not that this is a choice. This is a necessity. ‘Cause, humans do know that the tsunamic threat can annihilate them otherwise.
They also know that necessity is the mother of invention.
And, they know they can invent, ’cause, they’re the most creative species on Earth.
